So now that you've heard all about the wonderful camping adventure at The Pit (parts one and two), next up on the list is a small birthday party for Grandma (Adam's mom). We drove down to cousin Riley's house on Monday afternoon for some fun and a barbecue.
Riley has the BEST kiddie pool because it's big enough for an adult to sit in as well as a couple of kids...we may be investing in one for next summer. It was a bit deep for Harrison, so I had to hold him while he was in there with the other kids.
The kids played around in the back yard for awhile and we (parents/grandparents) had a few cold beverages. We also got to check out the new deck and hot tub enclosure (? I don't know what else to call it) Uncle Chris built. Very nice!
Riley has no fear of the water, as you can see.
Harrison prefers to play with this little red car - just like the one he has at home.
Ella had fun driving Riley's tractor around the side of the pool.
We had a delicious barbecue with corn on the cob. The kids ate inside because it was pretty hot on the deck. Grandpa joined them for a few minutes.
Finally came the time for birthday cupcakes. Riley helped Grandma blow out the first candle.
Ella also wanted to help, so the candle was re-lit and blown out again...I'm pretty sure Ella didn't blow it out, though. I don't think she could handle the pressure. Hopefully she gets that sorted out by her birthday party in September!
Everyone enjoyed a delicious cupcake.
Then we headed home after a VERY long weekend. Tomorrow I will be doing my usual 'Make It Yourself' post, but I'll be back with a cottage adventure on Tuesday. Don't forget to check it out!
