It's been raining for over 24 hours now (Oh wait - it stopped for like 20 minutes this afternoon). Not that I'm complaining or anything. We definitely need the rain after two months of practically no rain at all. I do, however, feel the need to post some outdoor fun pictures to counter this miserable weather.
One afternoon this week, after Adam got home from work, we packed up and headed to the beach for a quick swim before dinner. The kids sort of got shafted on the beach fun this summer. We felt most days were too hot to sit out in the sun all morning. The one day we actually made it there, the wind was so strong that we pretty much had to pack up and leave right away.
We had lots of fun this time, though! The water levels are crazy low, so we walked out a fair distance without even getting our knees wet. There was a little 'island' in the middle of the water that the kids played on for awhile. Ella mostly ran around splashing in the water and singing to herself. Harrison spent most of his time climbing into a puddle, sitting down in it, getting up and climbing out of the puddle, then repeating over and over.
Here are a few of the pics I took. You should know, I scaled back BIG TIME on the pictures for this post. There were so many cute ones it was hard to choose! Here are the best...
We are out so far that we're almost at the buoys.
Harrison lovin' this puddle
Ella's 'dainty' run (I refuse to call it a girly run...of course she runs like a girl people! She is a girl!)
On his way out of the puddle
Taking a break from the puddle to splash in the water
Running and singing...she basically just explored the little island all by herself.
Running and singing still.
Leading Daddy somewhere out to sea.
Harrison is trying desperately to catch up
Happy to be at the beach!
Ella is doing some sort of pose here...Harrison is trying to keep up.
He's pretty proud of himself for walking in the water by himself
And.....he found the mud.
