It's that time of the year again - time to pick a pumpkin! Last weekend we packed up and headed out to Rounds Ranch for our second year in a row of Pumpkin Mania. Of course, we chose the rainiest day of the week to go. It rained on and off for the hour that we managed to stay there. :D
Last year (click here to read that story), Harry was too little to enjoy anything at the ranch. This year was a little different.
Harry and I went on the bucket train ride (basically a long train of buckets that are pulled around by a tractor).
They also have some cute bouncy toys for the kids Ella's age.
Harry liked them too, except for when he fell off.
The best part of our adventure was visiting the animals. Many of the pens are open to visitors, so we were able to go in and pet/feed the animals. Harrison was very interested in these goats as well as the sheep and chickens.
Ella loved feeling the animals.
I think Adam did too!
Here's Ella looking at the bunnies.
Both kids peeking in to look at the baby chicks. Sorry, no chick pictures because I couldn't see them!
Harrison's just hanging out watching the animals...
...because a few minutes later he planned on sitting down in this gigantic mud puddle.
And here he is covered in mud.
Luckily, most of the mud was from his bum and down. He seems awfully happy about this - the picture I should have included was of my own face.
After we got most of the mud cleaned off (I don't mind him being covered in mud, but I wasn't about to carry him OR let him in the car like that, so it had to be cleaned up!), we found one more activity for the kids to do...
...and we still have no idea what we were supposed to do with these things. Pull them around? Jump on them?
The finale of the day was a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch. Part of Pumpkin Mania is that everyone gets to take home a 'Mama' sized pumpkin. The kids loved the ride out to the patch.
Again, so did Adam. He swears he didn't do this pose on purpose...I'll never know for sure.
Where are the rest of the pictures - the ones from the pumpkin patch, you ask?! Those pictures exist only in our minds because just as we arrived at the pumpkin patch, the rain started. We quickly found our pumpkins and hopped back on the wagon....where we sat in the torrential downpour waiting for everyone else to find their pumpkins. I didn't want to risk ruining our camera. Ella was pretty happy to choose her very own pumpkin, though. At least this year we made it to the pumpkin patch - last year we didn't quite get there!
Check back next week for my Halloween post to see pictures of the kids with their costumes and pumpkins!
Thanks for reading :D
