Christmas started today for our family. We have family get-togethers everyday for the next four days. Oh joy! Our activity today was attending Adam's extended family Christmas party. This year there were 26 adults and 6 children. Needless to say, it was a little crowded. The kids don't get to play together very often because they live so far away from each other. However, they seemed to play pretty well (alongside of each other) today.
Riley, Ella and Harrison had some snacks while they waited for the rest of the family to arrive. Here's a rare picture of the three kids looking at the camera!
At dinner time, the bigger kids got to sit at this table while the babies had to sit in a high chair - next year Harrison!
After dinner, there was a special treat - Santa showed up!
It was so exciting for (most of) the kids. Even Ella warmed up to him.
We managed to snap at least one picture with the four great-grandsons. It looks like Harrison is either trying to push someone off or get down himself.
Ella enjoyed sitting up on Santa's knee ...
... and she was even more excited when the kids did their gift exchange. Ella received a sweet little jewellery box with necklaces, rings and bracelets inside. She kept calling it her special box. It was pretty cute. Harrison's gift was a wooden truck and cars. He was also very excited, but for some reason he got distracted pretty quickly.
The kids ended up being awake until about 9 pm tonight - WAY WAY WAY past their bed times. Here's hoping for a little sleeping in action tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath on that one, though.
It was so nice to visit with family we don't see very often. It's also nice for the kids to get a chance to see them. Ella was pretty friendly with everyone, although, by the end of the night she was very tired and was pretending to be a baby. I just shake my head.
