Christmas Countdown: Day Fourteen
Day fourteen was my most anticipated activity so far! I had huge plans to go and pick out our Christmas tree - our first year with a real tree since I was little - including wagon ride and a hunt for the 'perfect tree'. The outing didn't quite go as planned.
We knew before we left home that we wouldn't be going on a wagon ride - the weather was too cold and snowy, especially for the baby. I still had hopes of us getting out for a few minutes, though. We got all bundled up and packed into the van and we were on our way.
When we pulled into the tree farm, there was no one else there (they were all at home by their fireplaces sipping hot chocolate, no doubt). There were tons of trees that could be cut down, but there were also several pre-cut trees lined up along a fence
Adam hopped out of the van to talk to the owner, and before we knew it there was a tree on the roof of our van. The kids were still buckled into their car seats. LOL
In the end, it was for the best. It was freezing cold, and they pretty much got to see everything from inside the van anyways. I better include this pic of Adam tying the tree to the roof - first time ever! Very exciting!! Needless to say, we made it home with the tree still on the roof - very important part of buying real tree.
Until day 15...
